The project proposes a new urban ecosystem that creates diversity, zones of ecological and cultural richness able to develop an alternative touristic scenario to the actual beach-focused porposal. A pilot- project that empowers the transversal axis that strategically connects the rural part of Palma to the sea. Along Calle Gran i General Consell, the project develops as a landscape narration revealing the possible new potencials along the gradient of urban spaces running from the coast to the interior of the island.
The regeneration of the urban fabric improves the ecological-environmental and socio-economical status of the city, focusing on different strategies.

Urban microclimate. With the creation of a a pine forest park, green islands and facades and the mediterranean vegetation in the streetscape, new specific microclimates are created improving the biodiversity of the marine, urban and rural landscapes.

Living the Street. The walkability improvement of the street creates a continuous space, a ‘garden street’ where socialization, resting spaces, workshops and events happen in a single shared space, improving the relations between local and temporary actors.

365 days a year. Thanks to the re-thining, re-covery and re-building the existing urban context and activities, the goal is to offer a mixed and dynamic program that promotes the social and cultural activities all over the year, breaking the monofunctionality and seasonality.
The Club Nautic area is a strategical space that connects the new urban promenade axis with the waterfront; an active spot for leisure, restoration and shopping. The block of the former Hotel Piñero Bahia opens itself to the ‘garden-street’ with and hybrid building, including the new media library, hotel and congress center, restaurant and shops as well as spaces for cultural and temporary events. The area of the S’Arenal shopping mall is converted in a place with a new identity, a new civic center and the local market and urban gardens, supporting an economy if proximity.

Sustainable development. The implementation of green roofs and solar panels improves the energetic efficiency and helps to reduce the local ecological footprint.
The intervention introduces a 30% more of permeable surfaces; the planting of new trees and the a dynamic textile urban canopy creates fresh and shadowed areas that improves the bioclimatic comfort of the public space, offering a new vision for the contemporary mediteranean streetscape
